Chaplaincy Grief Care Announces Fall Support Groups & Classes

The death of a significant person can be a time of great pain. The experienced team from Chaplaincy Grief Care offers support and education for family and friends. We invite you to follow a path through the pain that assists you in adjusting to life without the person who died, as well as finding meaning again. The following classes and support groups are available to assist you in this process.

Understanding Grief: An Introduction: This one-time session is open to adults experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. It is an educational experience and a unique support opportunity. The next class will meet on Saturday, August 20 from 10 AM – 12 PM. Fee: $10. Call LeAnne at 783-7416, ext. 2038 for more information or to register.

Hope for the Holidays: This class is available to help grieving people deal with the stress, loneliness, and confusion of the holiday season. The next classes will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 12 noon – 2 PM and Saturday, December 10 from 12 noon – 2 PM. No fee. Call Wanda at 783-6243 for more information or to register.

Coming to Terms with Loss: This group is open to adults experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. This group is educational and supportive. The next group will meet on Tuesdays, September 27 – November 29 from 12 -1:30 PM or 6 – 7:30 PM. Location: 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, WA. Widowed Support Group: This group welcomes widows, widowers, and partners who are experiencing grief due to the death of their loved one. This group will meet on Wednesdays, September 28 – November 30. Times are 12 – 1:30 PM or 6 – 7:30 PM. Location: 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, WA. Cork’s Place for Grieving Children, Teens and their Families: These sessions are specifically for children ages 3 -17 years. Ongoing groups meet regularly following the school year. There is a support group for parents and/or guardians provided at the same time the children are in session. Young Adult’s Grief Group: This group provides a safe place for young adults ages 18-25 to gather. The next group will meet on Mondays, September 12 – November 14 from 5:30 – 7 PM. Grieving Parent’s Support Group: This group is available for adults experiencing grief due to the death of a child of any age. The group meets Tuesdays, from November 1 – December 20. Men’s Loss Support Group: This group provides a safe and supportive environment for men to process grief related to the death of a significant person in their lives. We will explore methods that help us to identify, access, and express those losses in healthy, productive ways. Know that you need not suffer in silence or isolation any longer, as all are welcome in our group. Join us in the spirit of brotherhood, as we continue the healing journey every Thursday evening from 7 – 8:30 PM beginning September 15th. Location: 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, WA.
