Hospice patients receive the best care from the comfort of their own home.
For patients who experience uncontrolled pain or symptoms, our Hospice House is available to provide short-term, 24-hour care from our full medical team so a hospital visit is unnecessary.
We also continue to deliver our full interdisciplinary team throughout the patient stay so the patient and family can benefit from the stellar physical, emotional, and spiritual care that Chaplaincy is known for.
Located in Kennewick, WA, our Hospice House was built through generous community support in 1996 and is the only Hospice House in Benton and Franklin Counties. The Hospice House has 10 private rooms, where patients and their families can receive care in a comfortable, home-like setting when home is not an option.
Levels of Care at the Hospice House
General Inpatient Care
Provides a higher level of medical care and support for hospice patients experiencing uncontrolled pain or symptoms. Care is focused on stabilizing symptoms, with a discharge plan created to safely return patients to their home or care facility.
Respite Care
Respite care offers up to five days of inpatient care, providing relief for primary caregivers. It allows time to rest, travel, manage personal responsibilities, or simply be present with a loved one.
Routine Care
Routine care is available for patients who do not qualify for General Inpatient (GIP) or Respite Care but would like to stay at the hospice house, or who need a short term stay while transitioning between care settings. A room and board fee of $400 per day applies.
Our Hospice House serves as a bridge between home and hospital—providing expert care, emotional support, and a peaceful environment for patients and families.
How to Begin Hospice Care
You do not need a doctor’s referral to begin hospice care. You can refer yourself or a loved one any time, 24/7.
