Take a Moment – Balance

Aug 25, 2020

In this week’s Take a Moment reflection, Chaplain Esther offers us solid grounding amidst the shifting sands of life with a prayer by Michael Leunig. It reminds us that during times of overwhelm, isolation and struggle, that we are not alone in how we are feeling.

“We pray for the fragile ecology of the heart and the mind.

The sense if meaning. So finely assembled and balanced and so easily overturned.

The careful, ongoing construction of love.

As painful and exhausting as the struggle for truth and as easily abandoned.

Hard fought and won are the shifting sands of this sacred ground, this ecology.

Easy to desecrate and difficult to defend, this vulnerable joy, this exposed faith, this precious order.

This sanity.

We shall be careful. With others and with ourselves.  Amen.”

May each of us find a place and spirit of sanity and carefulness.

With you on the journey, The Chaplain Team at Chaplaincy Health Care

TAKE A MOMENT…
Several time a week, our chaplains send out a morning reflection via email to all Chaplaincy Health Care staff. These reflections have become a source of inspiration, support, comfort, laughter and sometimes tears. They are a valuable and welcome item in our inboxes. They keep us connected to each other, ourselves and to the divine spirit that connects us all. So, TAKE A MOMENT to enjoy these reflection posts. May they move you, support you, comfort you and remind you, even in this time of disconnection, we are all connected.
